It's not the fact that everyone believes it that makes it right, it's the fact that it's right that makes everyone on TwinTurbo.NET, the most knowledgeable source for Z32 information (including intercoolers) believe it. The consensus on this particular website regarding such things tends to be correct. If we were on 300ZXClub.com, I'd have no basis for such an argument. But I hold the TwinTurbo.NET community in much higher regard, because they do know what they're talking about on such issues. Your comeback on that issue is like saying "just because the entire science community believes the big bang happened doesn't make them right." It's not a comeback at all, it's a reversion of my logic. If the intelligent authorities on the issue have one stance, it's because that stance is the correct one... that's why they share that stance. The science community believes in the big bang because there is sufficient evidence (universal expansion and latent radiation, among other things) to show that it happened. The TwinTurbo.NET community agrees that intercoolers are a worthwhile mod because there is sufficient evidence (dyno charts) and testimony (people who have experience) to justify the stance. And if he has no experience regarding the benefits of upgraded intercoolers, his opinion is worth nil. Would you ask someone who's only had stock turbos about the lag of a Specialty Z turbo, or would you talk to Greg Dupree? He's not even an authority on the subject from a research perspective, so him looking at a dyno and drawing conclusions doesn't mean anything, either. The bottom line is that his opinion is founded on NOTHING. Thus, it is a useless opinion, and I'm glad that Ziceman has made his decision without putting much consideration into it.
"When you say this, will you be surprised if your arguments seem to move about instead of staying put? And will you accuse me of being Daedalus who makes them move, though you are yourself much more skillful than Daedalus and make them go around in a circle? Or do you not realize that our argument has moved around and come again to the same place? [...] Or do you not remember?" - Socrates |
